Saw a couple of my buff geese mating for the first time (first time I had seen them anyways) while ago.

The poor things need a set of training wheels. LOL

Thing is, it wasn't one that I suspected to be a gander.

lol

But oh well, as long as they know what each other are and can figure it out, that's what matters most....

Tis the season!

Mine started getting all romantic and hissy back in November. Now here we are in February and I was excited about getting eggs.

Nada.

Mine have stopped mating much and are honestly acting like they've regressed to goslings. They follow me around peeping and wanting to be petted. I'm a bit exasperated with them. I actually yelled at one of the ganders yestereday "Shouldn't you be hissing at me?" He had the grace to duck his head and softly "tchoo tchoo".

My geese have gotten so mellow that the farrier thought they were lawn ornaments on Monday because they didn't move for so long, even though I had strangers walking around the property. Some watchdogs!

I've been told that November was the geese mating season. Ours have behaved themselves so far. Not that I wouldn't mind some goslings...
