Sad thing is, Tx has one of the lowest cost of living in the states, and we have been less affected by the economic downturn than a lot of states. I just happen to hold a job where everyone above us, and the citizens we serve all think we are morons...to do what I do, I have to be certified as an officer through the state of Texas, and the people I work for and around STILL think that I am no more intellegent or educated than a janitor...and honestly, Im not paid much better than one.

I suppose I should be happy I have a job, but coming from a scholarly environment like the zoo (where I worked previously) to the environment that I now work, makes me a bit resentful of the people I work for

I can understand your frustration though. It isn't unreasonable to resent being treated poorly. I know it's a job, but sometimes it still stinks.

lol it is definately an amazing experience...I got the opportunity to get in with some rescued tigers too...couldn't quite muster up the courage to actually go IN to an enclosure with a predator that can kill and eat me...I was perfectly content for the tigress to allow me to touch her through the fence in aw of her magnificence
