Okay everyone, it's been a week!
I candled the eggs and as far as I can tell they are all marching along just fine!
They all have dark masses forming. No veins, but it does take longer than a chicken eggs, so I assume that's normal.
Momma broody is so cute...she purrs to them! I brought some BR's from the feed store yesterday (you know it had to snow, right?) and she was talking to them too. I do think she's a keeper!
Since I needed to candle the eggs I thought I'd take momma broody outside to go potty. I do almost every day, but yesterday we had 65-70+ mph winds, so no one was going out. Don't need free range broody poo!!! So, I take her out of the crate she's in and she starts protesting and flapping. All of the sudden she starts spraying broody poop. It missed me but the rest of the garage wall was well coated.
I had to hose it and her butt off before I could put her back. And, you know that I have to take a shower now, cuz DH is flying in from San Francisco tonight. Would it be so lovely going to the airport smelling like a broody? I can just see it now... "Gosh honey, did you get a new perfume, OR SOMETHING?"
