Hey, ya'll..I'm in Central FL and we live in a bit of a basin, which TS Debby is flooding the crap out of. I have 28 birds and one coop with two separate yards connected to it, both of which are flooded with more rain on the way. Can anyone suggest whether they are better off free-ranging and fending for themselves rather than be trapped in the yards and coop?? They got very wet overnight, besides they had to have been scared and miserable. I don't think I'll have to worry about predators if I leave them unlocked, but I just don't know. 14 of them are about 15-20 weeks.

Can you put wood/plastic scrap pallets in there (some places will give them to you if you ask nice) and scrap wood to make bridges?
Tarps to keep more rain off the runs?
all the predators will be out wet and hungry.

(almost as soggy in Jacksonville)

I second the tarps if possible. I've heard of folks getting bales of hay and setting them out there to keep the hens from standing in water

I do have some good size logs that might help and part of each yard is covered, but it doesn't help the downhill flow. Ill check out the tarp idea..think we have some in the barn!
