Hello all,
it has been a rough start this summer. I have 11 hens that are a year old and 9 teenagers 20 all together. This spring I had 3 go brooding on me and they all went into molting. After I did my research found out it takes 4-6 weeks to start laying again after molting. I was only getting 5-6 eggs a day. I also learned that the molt around 20 months. But now they are getting their act together LOL and the 9 teenagers are starting to lay. Thank goodness. We received 13 eggs yesterday out of 20 girls. Now I am going to go research about dehydrating the eggs. Have a good day.

. They are laying about half as many eggs as they should be and they aren't molting or going broody. Silly birds.

What does dehydrating the eggs mean?

Dehydrating eggs means like you would vegetables for long term storage. I am a prepper and just trying to get prepared just in case. Better to have food than not. This coming week I going dehydrate a lot of tomatoes and turn it into powder it will make soup, paste, sause, and good ol ketchup. Powder eggs can make a nice cake too lol.
