The one in the bottom pic is Buffy - someone in another thread thought she might really be a he - I'm waiting with bated breath since we can't keep a rooster - fingers crossed that she's just a big-boned gal.

Your babies are so cute! I ordered 11 chicks from Ideal and can hardly wait to get them! What breeds are yours? I hope your girls are all girls!

What a small world!! Greyhounds are the best doggies ever.

The chicks are 2 barred rocks and 2 easter eggers (ameraucanas?).
How do your hounds do with the chicks? One of mine is a hard-core hunter and the sound of the peeping has been pretty intriguing to both of them . . . I've been working on making it clear that the chicks are off-limits. I had success with my parrot but he didn't move nearly as quick as the chicks, so I'm pretty sure that at least their first few days in the coop/run, the hounds will be very very interested. I'm realistic enough to know that our dogs will never be safe around the chickens, so if I let the girls out of the coop to range I'll have to make sure the dogs are confined to the house. But so far, the pups have been good about leaving the chicks alone.
