The Great Mice Infestation....help!!!!!!!!!!

i guess im just a softy, i love the dumb mice/rats (of course i also keep slugs for pets) i recently discovered a white footed mouse and her several babies under a tarp i moved and was able to catch her and her babies and safely move them to there very own 10 gallon tank. i was so happy and proud at the kind thing i had done as it was profoundly cold here and had i left the babies they would have froze to death but of course my happiness and pride dissapeared as mama mouse ate her babies one by one

super duper uber sad, and i was left with just mama (not so cute) so i took her waaaaaay into the woods and let her go. long story short get a live trap, catch the buggers and put them out down the road, you wont kill your birds and you will be able to sleep at night

I had a huge mouse problem last fall. I ended up eliminating most of the mice within the first few days. I put a twenty gallon aquarium in the chicken house with a ramp going up the side. I placed feed in the aquarium & removed all of my chickens feeders out of the house at night. The mice would get into the aquarium to eat the feed & couldn't jump back out. I guess what you do with them at that point is up to you. I have a fear of drowning so I'm not going to do that to anything. I keep the D-Con covered traps set in the chicken house now to keep the mouse population from exploding again.

well for your mouse problem i say take in some stray cats for awhile and let them get fat on them , they will take care of them the way nature intended and it will be beneficial to you and the cats lol
