I've decided to document this hatch in pictures, starting with early incubation (wish I'd photographed the growing collection of eggs in the carton while I was waiting to set them). I've got it going already on my blog, but I thought I'd start a thread here to show the progression in pictures. Anyone else want to join me with their own chronological incubation, hatch, and duckling growth pictures?
Here is the first in my series, taken this evening, 8/12/2009. All but two of the 13 eggs were set in the incubation two days ago, on 8/10/2009. Another two eggs were placed the day they were laid, on 8/11. Here they are, still and quiet, all potentiality:
For the record: These are 13 Indian Runner Duck eggs. seven are blue/blue, six are blue/fawn & white cross.
