I bought a sizzle "hen" a few weeks ago. The most gorgeous thing ive ever laid eyes on. I was looking all over to find her a mate, but i couldnt find one as beautiful as her. Last night i heard a super strange noise coming from the brooder.. i went to go check in on everyone to be sure they were all okay. Sat there for a little bit, watched & waited.. Turns out, she is a HE !! Miss, i mean Mister Sizzle, has discovered how to crow.. Yay. I dont really mind though. Hes so gorgeous. Now i need a name for him..

PS - i posted a pic of him a while back titled "What a cool looking frizzle ive got". But i was recently told by the breeder its a Sizzle. Not that i really care. lol but here is Mr Sizzie !

just make sure whatever you choose for a mate isn't frizzled also

thank you. i just recently found that out. Im thinking, that being he is a frizzle X silkie, i will probably breed him with a silkie. Maybe white or Black.. probably white. But i have two white frizzles in the brooder now, so what should i breed them with to keep their frizzle traits, other than a silkie ?

most frizzles/sizzles are bred with either silkies or cochins depending on what outcome you want.....

Lucky you that you can keep him! I can't where I am. But I do have a hen that decides to "crow" here & then.

Hopefully that will pass soon.
