The Homesteader's Way of Feeding Chickens

This is a shout out to all of the homesteaders out there! I have been curious about feeding the birds alternatively rather than feeding them commercially.

I am gonna grow lots of corn and boss next year to feed them. I may start an earthworm farm too for the protein. They get all veggie scraps. They forage from dawn to dusk, rain or snow. I ve also been sprouting for them too. What else would you suggest?
