EDIT: Until recently Blacks were incredibly rare due to a massive slaughter of the color when a middle eastern leader lost a battle due to his soldiers riding all black arabians in the hot sun. He was defeated by an army riding all white Arabains. The "king" ordered all black coated Arabains to be killed due to his defeat. The coat color was nearly lost in the genetic pool, but has recently made a comeback.
