The Incubator Thread

Do you know if they are good incubators? I'm looking to upgrade from the LG's and Hovobators. The one I really want is the Brinsea, but this one is cheaper. I rather pay the higher price to get what I'm looking for. I thought somebody here may have had one of these so I could get better information about it

I only heard from one person who bought chickens from me in the fall. He said they were junk (not saying the word he said) but that is only from one person. I do not anything about them.

Just a couple dozen at a time. I really don't want a bunch of chicks to have to take care of anymore. I used to incubate year round. Now I'm just gonna do a small batch. Thats why I want a good incubator. I want better hatch rates. I want to grow my English Orp flock a little and ad another color. Some silkies to from time to time when I get an order for chicks locally.

I hear ya there I decided to go with a little one that only holds 7 as that seems to be my magic number, will let ya know how that goes on next hatch as will be using it and a cooler bator instead of the LG, I need sleep once in a while and hatch before this one ooops I forgot I don't sleep well for last 3 days , and did a staggered hatch over 9 days , last ones fell asleep on day 20 and evil LG spiked a temp of 116 and killed hatching chicks, 3 were pipped internally already and working on the external from looks of it when it did that

Here is mine I absolutely love this it's a Janoel 12 incubator it similar to that as it is the same brand as the one u listed

How many Hatches have you done in this?? What was yor hatch rate? Thanks

I am looking into buying a new incubator. I originally wanted a Brinsea that holds 20 eggs. I found one on ebay that looks interesting but the turner may or may not turn the eggs from one side to the other.It can possibly turn to one side repeatedly.It turns every 2 hours instead of continuos movement. It is digital but I also don't know if it will hold at one temperature. I found another just like it but it holds 96 eggs instead of 48 eggs. I'm adding a link to the one on craigslist so somebody can take a look.

Does anybody have any experienced info on this incubator?

I never have heard any good things about these, but I personally never tried one.

I only did one so far and about to do another almost all of mine hatched I put in ten and 8 or 9 hatched so pretty good

Has anyone added extra rails or egg racks to the little giant egg turner motor? I was looking at how easy it would be to make one of the turners out of some aluminum, and angle aluminum with 12 racks instead of the regular 6 rails.. The cost to make the 12 racks would be about $40. All I would have to buy is the rails, angle aluminum, and motor. Just wondering if anyone has tried doing this before with the small motor???

I'm sure u could but with 12 rows I don't know how well they would turn with the small motor
