Yeah. I put a stuffed toy in there with it. Others told me to put an unbreakable mirror in there but i didnt have one. I gave it to someone that had other chicks... if it is just for one day im sure it will be fine.

I might actually get the chick back... the people said if its a cockerel i can have it back as they cant keep roo's... i will just rehome him if this happens

Well I went down to check it almost all of the blood has absorbed as I opened the giant air cell last night and another one is already pipped so it won't be alone too long thank you. This is stressing me out. It's the only baby out of 2 batches of eggs (the latest batch appears to be all clears) so it's basically an $80 chicken w/ what these stupid eggs cost...

If they were all clears I would contact the seller and if they won't give you a refund or an exchange, lan at least they know that their eggs aren't fertilised. Thats such a shame... Sorry

Well these are the replacements that I still paid shipping for hence the high expense. I love that ppl will happily blame mail and the ppl hatching etc... Which I have made plenty of mistakes but the one that wouldn't fit in the incubator I had in the fridge and opened it yesterday def no bullseye and the membrane peeled out w/ it like it was old too... I have others Ameraucans in there too set the same day from a different seller and all 5 of those are started. It's early but I can usually start seeing something I'm giving them a few more days then I will open a few and message her she's seems nice enough... On the good news front I just looked and have 2 pips on my eggs due today so the scrambler better figure it out my humidity is at 75% im not opening the bator again!

@BlueBaby I just want to say that I am so proud of my cockerel. Today I just saw him showing his ladies where the food was. Also when a magpie came and swooped them he jumped at it and chased it off. Then I saw him dance for one of the girls... even though i didn't see him mate. I cracked open one egg the other day that had a definite bullseye (the yolk popped before I could get a pic) so I am happy anyhow.

This guy is so young and displaying all the qualities I think a rooster should have.... Plus he doesn't attack us which is great

That is good then. If you have seen the bulls-eye in that egg, then chances are very good that he is fertilizing all of the egg layers that are in there with him. When will you be hatching out those eggs again?

See but that is the only one so far I've seen that is fertile... I'm still getting heaps of infertile ones. I might wait a few months before trying again...

I doubt if it will take two months, as it seems that his hormones have already kicked in. I would check the eggs again in a couple more weeks.

I guess the eggs i tried were a week old or so... I will check again in a few weeks

I know! Ive been waiting for months and it is finally happening. Im just so glad i picked a good cockerel because i read about how many bad ones there are on the forum and made me a little nervous but he is a gentleman... for now anyway
