This is Diana Berry one of eight that we hatched early last October. She is my sister's "favourite" based on character and behaviour. She is very independent and most often can be found off on her own in the coop. She (and all of the eight) were coddled from their beginning days, petted, picked up, allowed to flit up on Susan's shoulders, arms, lap. She is a Silkie mix having black skin, hairy legs, tufts and a beard!

These days all 15 of our birds are invited out of the coop and onto the snow that still surrounds and envelopes our landscape. Diana Berry comes out the person door, looks around and then flies from the steps to Susan's shoulder and will rest contentedly for up to 10 minutes before going down to share sprouts or sunflower seeds or greens or mealworms or whatever treat has been concocted for them.
