Well, not a computer. A system that was popular in the late 90s early 2000s. Or @notabitail was it popular throughout the 2000s?
Pentium 4 and other NetBurst CPUs happen to be a thing I have read a bit much on.

Pentium 4 processors were popular then. Their competitors, the Athlon, and later the Athlon 64 and 64 X2 were popular from what I've heard as well.

The Athlon 64 performs faster in some things (Cinebench 2003 seems to prove this right) due to not having the super long pipeline.

However, the Pentium 4's with hyperthreading have held up better from my experience in terms of modern web browsing and modern Linux thanks to the additional thread they have.
