Maybe it had to do with how I was raised but I was honestly the opposite, too far tbh. More often than not I could not care less what I looked like or what others may think about the way I look.
Now I have insecurities for other reasons but they don't stem from any outside influence.

I do find it very sad that that's the case for so many people.

Thats amazing, im really glad you were raised like that. My parents are not the best with that, and comment on my appearance a lot.

When i was younger my parents did not. They do some now but they're comments of concern, to be fair.
I did have siblings that would comment on some things but it's kinda my personality to be able to shut out unwanted opinions, I guess
