The Joys of Owning Imported Orpingtons

I hope everyone is having a good day :) Been in the woods deer hunting... seen plenty of sign... just no deer yet... Just did a sweep of the rooster yards... cleaned out a bunch of cull roos to help cut down the feed bill. I invested in a heated water hose.... Thinking it is going to save on my back this yr :)

Where on earth did you find a heated water hose?...

We have tons of deer.. darn things will come up to the house and look through the window watching TV.. it's one of the reasons that my garden has to be protected by dogs now..
Silly things are more like pets .. no fear of people.. and will come over looking for food most days when I'm out feeding the critters.. when we had the drought a few years back they would come running when they heard the hose.. hate to shoot them since we have been naming them

..... I already told my husband that "Big Momma" is off limits.. she's been with us for too many years now.. he has outright refused to shoot "the Twins".. since he was worried one wouldn't make it.. (yeah.. we're BAD)

Then I found this:
http://www.alliedprecision.com/

we just got 2 more bucket heaters in the mail
last year we only had 1 in the main coop
this year we will add 1 in with our building
& another for our bronze turkey pair

How much juice does one of those use Piglet?

the ones we have are only 250 watts (horse.com)
(they sit in the bottom of the water bucket)
so you could run up to 6 off of a 15 amp breaker
as long as you use a good heavy duty cord
we will have 3 running so thats about 7 or 8 amps
running foam bators you draw about 300 watts each if i remember rite
