The Joys of Owning Imported Orpingtons

i kept my lone jubilee cockerel in the bathroom brooder as long as i could

he was about 4 weeks old so i worried about keeping him in there because i was adding 2 dozen buff orpingtons

that had just hatched out.

i thought he would be ok out on the back porch in the brooder there

the silly thing would not get under the lamp with the others that were about a week older

found it stiff & DOA this morning

i have more jubilee eggs in the bator

Renie i'll be over in 4/5 weeks once this semester is over with

i am so tired of mail order eggs

He was scared piglette.... chickens have that old pecking order you know. I can hatch you out some bbs chicks

it's all part of hatching

at some point i'll get the rest of the breeds i want

the good news is the ground isn't still frozen

so i can start a grow out pen for some pullets

i'm planning on using my big chicken tractor i built last season for the cockerels

i'll sell all the boys i can & the rest can go camping come fall
