Hey all, so I just thought I'd show off my roo and see what ya'll think.
His name is Goldie. I got my flock in feburary and thought I was buying all pullets as thats the way the store advertised them all. None the less, I am very pleased to have this rooster. Goldie is a big brute. He's given me a few whacks when I've tried to pick him up, wing to the nose ouch. He keeps the girls in line. One day I kept him and my banty rooster locked up, and the wife said the hens where all over the place, unorganized. Goldie keeps the hens together, and will even march the girls back to the coop to lay their eggs. Lately we've had a lot of stray cats showing up in our yard from down the street, and Goldie has been giving many of them a run for their lives. NO ONE MESSES WITH HIS GIRLS. He's cool with me, but even when I pick up one of his girls, he's there giving me that evil eye.
So here is Goldie a month ago.
