Depends on who you ask. They're livestock with names to me, but pets to the main decision-maker around these parts.

Both. There are several who are firmly in the pet category, but their offspring are fair game.

Well because you said "poultry" it's an in between and a "it depends".
My chickens are more pets to me when compared to those who keep them as livestock, but they're very livestock when compared to those who keep them as pets...
My quail are pets in that I don't use/have them for production of basically anything. They're aviary pets.
And my geese accidentally fell HARD into the pet category At this point in time I don't even know if I'm capable of owning them as livestock
