The Lair....Quilt Central...Woman Cave-New Projects in Progress!

You know me, I have rarely followed someone else's pattern/plan, but these are so nice and simple to make, very straightforward. I really like them! Thank you again, Terrie. I can't wait to get the borders on tomorrow so it will come together and really shine.

Have the red w/gold stars border on (the book has a red with cream dots border) and I'm putting on a navy blue border. I don't have any beige floral for the outer border at all so what I'm going to do is make the 2" navy border into a 3" navy border and leave it at that. It's already a really good sized runner with a longer drape over the sides than the last two I made.

ETA: Have to wait to buy batting to finish up on it. Meanwhile, pieced a wallhanging/table topper. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but the final result isn't too bad. It is a 24" block from one of the bed runners in the book, guess it's really just a large Rising Star block.

Thanks! Its turning out better than I thought it would. I really want to learn to free motion quilt with my machine so I can turn out small projects faster, though generally, I prefer the look of hand quilting.

I was fortunate enough to win the auction on this wallhanging, and it arrived this morning.

I have to tell you, the pictures do not begin to do the colors or fabric pattern details justice. It is absolutely gorgeous! I was prepared for excellent workmanship, but it is really beautiful, and I'm not a "craftsy" person at all.

There is a rather large blank wall over my laptop that will now be filled with something quite lovely. Thank you, Cynthia!

Just found this thread. I've been thinking about doing some quilting or piecing this summer as it's too hot to be outside much. I like to hand piece. I know it's slow but it helps me relax in the evening or when (if ever) I'm on a road trip... even if its only an hour away!

I hate being completely idle.

Does anyone besides the OP do any quilting? I like your quilts speckledhen and I admit I didn't read through all 11 pages of posts but was just wondering if anyone else sews? Do you have a group you work with? Do you ever do any round robin type of things? I've done a couple of those and found them to be really fun!

So, just popping in to say hello. Looks like this was a fairly active thread for a while and seems to have faded just a bit. Are you working on anything in particular now?
