Silver stepped out of the bracken, quiet as a mouse. She hid under Alektyra's feet.

Alektyra started to move forward again. Her foot brushed something. Thinking it was a rock, she pulled her leg back to kick it aside.

Silver couldn't suppress a loud yelp as she felt the hoof collide with her small body, sending her tumbling into the bracken.

"Probably someone inside," Clio yawned, "Come in, Neptune, Noeta, but please, leave the chicken-horse outside."

"Aquilon," Neptune said, walking up to the red wolf. "We've agreed to give you what your group wants...if you fight with us in the war. This is a big battle, but I believe you still want the book?"
Aquilon nodded, his expression was grim but his eyes were exited. "Yes. Fine, I will lead them into battle IF you give me it."
"Once we win," Neptune said smiling.
"It's agreed."
"Wait a minute!" A black wolf charged forward angrily. "Who said we ALL agree?"

"Erato," Aquilon said with an edge to his voice. "I think we already went over the amount of work you have to do to get your share of the pay."
She stared at him defiantly. "I've fought BATTLES with you, Aquilon, not WARS. How do we know we'll win and not be killed?"
"We fight for REWARDS, not victory."
Erato paced, anger flowing off her in waves. "There are no rewards for this but certain death!"
"Erato--"
"Audoxes!" (The group name) she shouted, waking a few creatures who had been asleep. "AQUILON here wants us to fight in a war that will get us KILLED. Is this the leader you want?!"
Aquilon became outraged. "You don't decide on what we do, rat-o."
