Their voices could be heard better as he got closer.
"Who are you?" Rocky said.
"Sheila," Sheila replied, "and I come to ask for you assistance."
"Assistance in what?" Kate asked, puzzled.
"Assistance in defeating Thunder. I'm sure you're well aware of the fact that he is fighting to take control of Rainea." She looked pointedly at Kate's wings and the dark streaks through her fur.
"We know him," Rocky replied simply, "why should we help you?"
"Because if Thunder succeeds in taking over Rainea, your lifestyle will be no more. He has vowed to destroy all of those who defy him and reject his authority."
Kate shut her eyes briefly. "And how do we know we can trust you?" She asked finally.
"You don't," Sheila shrugged. "But your only other options are to fight with Thunder, or be destroyed by him."
Rocky frowned, "she does have a point, Kate."
Kate nodded slowly, "as long as my pups will be safe, we will join you, Sheila."
"Wise decision," Sheila nodded approvingly. "Your pups will be safe."
Attollo started back for the cave when another sound caught his ears.
"...think I didn't know know that?" said Sylvia's voice.
"No," Neptune answered, his coat flashing in the moonlight.
"We'll get this figured out AFTER Thunder's gone," Sylvia said.
"What if it's to late by then."
Sylvia flickered into existance, her eyes flashing, "Then it won't matter, will it?" Neptune narrowed his eyes, then started back to the cave. Sylvia flew, going far around him.
Sheila perked her ears and listened to their conversation as she, Rocky, Kate and the pups were making their way back to the cave. "What are they talking about?" She thought to herself.
