THE LONE EGG

Ok Last year our ducks hatched me a little girl on Nov. 2nd (yes i know her b-day

) and she went broody the second it became warm. She had barely started laying so of course nothing happened. Well she now has 1 egg

that she has been brooding. She started with 10 and got rid of all the rottens and we're down to this 1. I'd love to have 3rd generation ducks on my farm. I checked it out and it looks great. Can't say what day it is, but i think we've got a week. She's just been sooo good about staying with that egg. Its rained for 4 days straight and she stuck to her guns and stayed on that egg. I know its hard for a duck to resist a puddle so i'm proud of her. Do you guys think she has a chance? Please send good vibes for the lone egg.

It rained hard enough today to flood the nest. The Mama finally gave up. Looks like no duckling. Guys don't feel to bad. In 2 months she'll try again. That seems to be her thing. I might just buy some fertile eggs to slip under her.
