Chapter 32

I heard a noise. My eyes were starting to open and when I looked straight ahead... Bambi was there.
"Bambi? You saved me?" I muttered out.
All he did was smile. He did save me. I wouldn't ever think that a deer could save a chicken. I smiled back at him. He was a good friend.
Then I realized-my nest. I went back to my nest and the eggs were still warm.
"Oh gosh I hope they are ok!" I cried out.
It had stopped raining, but thunder was still going. I looked down at Bambi. He was still looking at me and smiling. I waved my wing at him and he went into the clearing. I looked at my eggs. Still perfect. I sighed, I wish I never went down there, but either way the rats still could have climbed up this tree and would eat me, then the eggs. I shuddered. Man, was this a wild adventure. I really hope no other predators come around for a long time.
Bambi was still gone and I wanted to rest a bit from that little fight I had with the rats.
I closed my eyes for the rest of the night and slept.

The next day. Day 18? It was morning. The sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, and it was really nice out. It was a little bit hot, but the breeze helped me stay cooled. Bambi was under my tree, still sleeping. He just stuck to me like glue. It would be really hard to let him go when I leave back for my coop. Or maybe I wouldn't have to leave him....
I wasn't going to get down from my nest for a while because I left it enough times yesterday. I was begining to wonder if they'll ever make it.... No! I can't think that! I have to think positive! Not negative.
Bambi started to wake up and I greeted him. All he did was smile, he sure smiled a lot too. I smiled back.
He went over to the clearing and kept looking at me. He probably wanted me to come down.
"I can't Bambi. I have to warm my eggs."
He frowned. Did he understand me because he went on and didn't look at me again. Maybe he could, that'd be cool.
