Chapter 33

Day 20. I could already feel them move inside! I was getting really excited! I could never stop smiling!
For about 2 days predators haven't been around. Thank goodness. If only they can stay away till I leave.
Bambi never leaved unless for food. He was stuck to me. He wouldn't leave my side. He was a really good friend. How can I ever repay him from saving me from those ugly rats!?
It was humid today, so I decided to finally get off my nest and eat... hopefully drink too. When I got down Bambi was in the clearing already. He was giddy and glad that I have finally got down. I greeted him and went to catch some bugs. A lot because I was really hungry!
I see a grasshopper.... I'm ready to pounce. I sneak up on it and I got it! I chewed it right up! The juices dripping. Yum, so delicious! I caught a lot of bugs. I caught 3 grasshoppers, 3 beetles, 1 butterfly, 2 dragonflies, and 2 worms.
I was thirsty now and tried looking for water holes. I couldn't find any and I was getting really thirsty while the sun was beaming down on me.
I looked over at Bambi. "Bambi... if you can understand me, where is the nearest water hole?" I asked.
He started going off somewhere and I followed. There was a small pound and I rushed up to it and drank.
Now I was really sure that Bambi could understand me.
I looked up a bit and Bambi was by me.... Oh... I just realized that Bambi was a girl! I laughed to myself. Haha wow, all this time I thought she was a he! Well then, I'm glad I named her Bambi.
"You're a girl!"
Bambi cocked her head. I laughed and went on drinking.
When we were done we went back to our little camp site. I hopped up all the way to my nest and I noticed something....
