Chapter 42

The fox snarled at us. Lilly and Rose screamed.
"It's alright girls." I hugged them. "Let me tell you a litte story about this girl named Emma."
They looked up at me and nodded their little heads.
"Ok well once upon a time... there was this girl named Emma, she was the most prettiest hen ever in the coop! She had black, sleek feathers with a puffy white head. She was a skinny thing... She fell in love with this handsome guy, but one day... that changed everything. She went off into the forest when she saw him with another hen... she was furious. For a week no one ever saw her again! She was one of my beest friends... but she came back and got her man because he really did care about her. And they lived happily ever after."
Rose and Lilly were so intent with the story that they forgot about the fox. I know thats not what really happened to Emma, but I wasn't going to tell them a sad story when the fox was here. I don't know what we are going to do. I hate getting caught up in a tree with a fox at the bottom and waiting for it to leave... I just wanna get home!
"Mommy?" Rose asked with bright, shiny eyes.
"Yes Rose?" I said back.
"When will the fox leave?"
"I don't know, honey...." I told her honestly.
All the sudden I felt a vibration. I looked east... there was a herd of deer going after the fox. And Bambi was in the front! I smile earlobe to earlobe. Once again Bambi came to the rescue! The fox was scared and ran off west. 20 more feet and the deer stopped chasing the fox. Rose and Lilly got down right away and gave Bambi a huge hug! I got down and did the same.
"You saved us again Bambi! How did you get all these deer to come!?" I was astonished.
Bambi just smiled and laughed. I did the same. We were standing there laughing and hugging... I'm now glad Bambi is on this adventure with us!
Bambi was a great friend.... She reminded me of Emma... then I started to think if Emma could actually be in Bambi's body, but... that was crazy!... Right?....
