For the windows I used 1x6 pine that I ripped into 2.5" widths, I cut them to length, slightly bigger than the glass dimensions, and I nailed and glued these together into rectangular frames. I then tacked in pieces of 3/4" molding along the "front half" of the inside perimeter the frame, flipped the frame over and put the glass in, resting against the back of the molding. Then I put molding around the back perimeter, effectively pinching the glass in place. It would have been smart to use silicon between the glass and molding strips but I didn't and it worked. I got the molding free, glass was two dollars total and the 1x6 I had left over...so cheap windows!
