I had just finished eating cereal for breakfast and was putting away the dishes when I saw Henry, our rat terrier, running about, loose, in the yard. He has a real problem with killing chickens, and will wipe out an entire flock, so we have to make sure to keep him away from the flock.

The first chickens I was worried about was my escaped hens, Fuzzy and Isabelle. I caught Henry and put him back in the pen, filled the hole with logs, bricks, and rocks, and took a head count of our chickens: they were all there!

I almost fainted with relief, and then praised GOD for keeping my dear flock safe. Me seeing Henry out of the pen was surely not something that happened by chance: it had to have been The LORD's work!

Praise The LORD!

Thanks for reading!

Hannah.

Rat terriers are meant to be energetic predators and smart too. I use fencing with 3 inch wire spacing laid along the ground to keep critters from digging into the run. We used that on the floor of the outdoor dog run to keep our doberman from digging out when she was in heat.
