Splash was laying out in the sun. She didn't know what her chicks were doing but she was just taking a bit of me time.

Coal and Midnight had just got back from their trip in the woods. Midnight had hot a pretty flower for Splash. They walked into the burrow. "Hi mom!", Midnight said,"I got you a present!"

Wren took a step outside, and then another. It was nearly dark, only the setting sun and the rising moon illuminated the ground. She heard a strange sound. Her head whipped around.
(okay, what do we want the sound to be? A predator? Another chicken?)

Raven was finishing his sunning as the sun set. He watched Splash’s family interact and sighed. He wished he could have that.

After they were both in, Rain unwrapped the egg out of the leaf, but then covered it with her body, too quickly for Rain to see what it was. "Now, I'm about to show you means everything. It might mean the difference between me being in the flock and not. You need to promise me as a friend that you won't tell anyone until I see that it's appropriate."Fang's sharp eyes glittered with passion. "Do you promise?"
