The makeover

Picked up this 6x6 coop for $300, got it home and discovered it was a mess.
Being that I wanted bigger anyways we tore it down to the studs, and made it into a 6x10

Still need to add another vent on the north side, get another window in, door in, insulate and finish the inside roost and nesting boxes

After reading many threads, floor will be covered by Blackjack 57 and we will utilize the deep litter method.

Looking good I think you got a good deal and will be a sturdy coop for half the money than those crappy pre fab ones. GOOD JOB you guys. We love recycled things.

Progress so far.
Complete gut and remodel, roof done, found some moisture barrier at the rehab, installed a solar light, siding to be installed, need to finish the inside and the run and then we are ready for the chickens

Thinking of putting the roost on the north side with ventilation below (closed off un winter.

The other 3 walls have vents above

So after some reading and some thought, I changed the roost bars and added a poop board
