Hi to all, i'm new to this forum, (only a couple of posts in the new members area)

I'm also quite new to poultry, only 4 or so months, and at the moment I'm keeping a pair of Maltese Blacks, which are a rare and only local breed of chicken (I think they are as rare as Pandas...honestly!)

Here's a photo of my pair, others I've posted in the new member's area.

That roo is stunning... I'd love to see a full body shot.

So where are you? Malta?

Will you be hatching chicks from these two.

They are beautiful.

How often does she lay?

They remind me a little of Black Minorcas.

I said on your other thread, if you or some relative come to AZ, try and bring some hatching eggs... I'll buy them and start a little Maltese Black flock here!

Sometimes you can't get them through customs.

I did have some friends though, that had a friend of theirs bring a dozen hatching eggs from Spain... had to 6 packs...and I think the customs official thought they were for eating!

They now have Spanish Gallos and Gallinas down in St. David!

Usually my relatives are here every year, so I will tell on here if they will accept to take them for me.
The hen lays almost daily but the eggs are small for her size, I don't think they will get any bigger, she is 6/7 months old now.
