The Middle Tennessee Thread

Hi I just moved here less then a year ago and I'm planing on getting 6 chickens as a school/hobby project hopefully with my sister. We are planing on getting Campines,Plymouth Rocks ad Easter eggers. Does any one know if these breeds would do well in this climate? If not what breeds should we substitute for them? Were looking for friendly, medium, pretty but good egg layers.Thank!

Welcome to BYC and TN!

All those breeds should do fine here. It is a pretty chicken friendly climate if they have shade and clean water in the heat of summer.

Thanks! Plymouth Rocks,Easter Eggers and Campines are some of my favorite breeds and I was worried that they wouldn't do well in middle Tennessee's climate, now all those worries are gone. Thanks again!
