Freddie was not due to hatch for another week.... suddenly one Sunday evening we heard the plaintive cries of a hatchling... we had to help Freddie out of the shell. Freddie was very weak, messy too with yolk and associated residue stuck to its wing, eyes and I made the decision to bathe Freddie in warm water as the gunk was like glue!

Sadly Freddie was very weak, had bloody eyes, a wing that was almost detached and we feared for its future.... Freddie survived until the next morning and lived in a heated enclosure indoors - was hand fed and encouraged to drink from a small container... Freddie also developed "spraddle leg" and the odds were stacked against the gosling....

Today, Freddie is almost three months old - is doing so well and we are so proud of him./her.... just wanted to share this with you - Freddie has never given up hope... neither do we!!!

Happy days for Freddie - the miracle Toulouse!!!!

Thanks !!! Freddie is very special to me.... Freddie walks and talks with me every day - we have long conversations in gobbledigook...!!! whatever that is!!! Freddie also helps me to find dandelion leaves to feed to Jessie our rabbit... we have many long walks together and Freddie is such a pleasure to me... !

Missed you too, hope you have been well also all your critters. Hows the weather in your part of the world?

Hi Miss Lydia!

The weather is is very hot at the moment... we are so very lucky - we are growing our own corn/maize this year to supplement the goose, duck, and chicken feed... we just heard on the news that you are suffering in the States from drought conditions... - that is so awful...! We had the same problem here last year... we had no rain for almost four months.. we were feeding our horses hay in August due to the dry conditions..!

This year we have had our fair share of rain, it has helped the crops so we will have a plentiful supply of hay for the Winter months.... it is bizarre!!!

I pray you get clement weather conditions to help you all through the difficulties you are facing!

Love
