Aerons answer left Karok with the feeling that the thief was not telling the whole truth. However, rather than question him more, Karok understood that the subject unsettled his new companion. The Zurian frowned and nodded. "I am sorry that has happened....For what it's worth you have the wit to survive without a shift."

"I appreciate you kind words," Aeron now felt even more guilt for lying, but not enough to come clean; it was only known by a few Wildfolk leaders, that the birth of a half Human, half Wildfolk child was even possible, and they thought he was long dead.

Aeron stood and quickly said, "We have not enough food for us of all, let me go hunt and gather, I'll be back before the e'en light is gone."

Aeron melted into the darkness to hunt. The fire danced and cast it's light on the tree line. Karok laid his head down. He was suddenly so exhausted that sleep was getting the best of him. Am I really that old? Slowly but surely, his eyes closed and he fell into a slumber.
