The Missing Heir RP

Kira stayed at the fire, studying Karok as he rested. After a while her attention shifted to the two horses and she wached them.

In his sleep memories swirled in Karoks minds. Memories of his service, his childhood...of his mate and children. Some were wonderful, others were haunting. One flashback that flooded into his mind several times was of the last memory of his mate. The last words they spoke, the stunning dress, her enchanting perfume, and her beautiful blue skin. It was a bitter sweet dream.

Game was scarce, but he refused to come back without a lot more food, then the plants he had picked along the way. By the time Aeron tracked down a small herd of deer, the last rays of the sun were vanishing and a pale moon had risen. He aimed his bow at the closet doe's eye, breathing slowly, he released and the arrow found its mark.
The doe fell dead and the herd scattered into the foliage, Aeron moved to the lifeless creature, he knelt, thanking the doe for its sacrifice so that they could live. He hefted the doe onto his back, it was heavy but not too bad, it would be easy if he was not already so weakened.

He started back, as the sky turned dark.

Kira kept the fire going, occasionally going to gather more wood a little at a time so they would have enough to last the night.

The image of his mate slowly faded and twisted into a dark and horrid scene. A battle field, with grass dyed red with blood and bodies strewn about. The deafening sound of combat around him drowned all thought. Suddenly, he turned around only to meet a high elf just as it plunged his sword into Karoks body. This jolted the Zurian awake, snapping upright and quickly looking around to assure himself. D***ed sleep....
Karok moved closer to the fire as the cold of night set in.

Kira looked to him wide-eyed "Are you alright?" She asked curiously

Aeron exited the woods and continued past the fire, down to the water. "I'll take first watch, ye two rest, I need to cook the meat," he said, laying the doe on the bank of the river, he quickly skined, then dressed the meat. He was not planing on waking eather of his new companions.

Karok quickly nodded to Kira. "I am well...bad dream is all...". His body shivered a little as he repositioned himself. Aerons return relaxed him a little. For whatever reason, Karok felt safer. And admittedly, he was very hungry. Karok laid his head down once again, closed his eyes and tried to fall back to sleep.

The moon travailed across the sky as Aeron cooked all the meat me could, rapped it and packed it into their bags. He watched the first rays of the sun start to lighten the sky and waited for the others to awaken.
