The Missing Heir RP

Tu'ull marched through the river and followed the freisian obediently. Karok was rather glad to be heading into town. He craved a few things, a drink being one of them and a bed being the other. Perhaps he could find more work but, none that would compromise his new responsibilities. Perhaps Aeron would turn over a new leaf.

They rode on as the day progressed, it was just about mid day and the sun was high in the heavens. Aeron became alert as a unusual sound reached their ears, The town bell...' he recognized the distant sound, remembering it from the many times over the years they had rang out to signal a search party on it's way to capture him.
Back then, he only committed minor crimes, so if he had ever been caught, he'd receive a whipping or a week in the stocks at the most. But his newest crime, horse theft was punishable by death and though he knew the bells were not tolling for his death, it still sent a shiver down his spine.

He turned to Karok and asked, "Dost thy hear that, what think ye could it be ringing for?..."

Kira sat up straighter, noticing the shiver that went through Aeron at the sound of the bells. She looked ahead then to Karok for his answer since she had not left the safety of the forest often.

"Something must be terribly wrong. Those bells are for dire emergency. Whatever the cause, I will back you Aeron." Karok looked to Aeron as if to ask if the man wished to proceed. Certainly they would not think of a horse thief in whatever emergency this was. Is it possible the village was being raided? A red blush took to Karoks rill as his instincts told him something was amiss.

"Yea, I am" Kira said as she slipped down to the ground "I can shift if need be, so don't be shooting any panthers you might see" She winked then slipped around the horse and disappeared into the forest to go see what was up at the village.

((Whoops))

Karok watched Kira fade into the brush. Turning to Aeron, he opened his mouth to ask but hesitated. Surely the man hasn't committed a crime of such nature they would ring the bells. The shire pawed the ground in frustration from being denied grass.

((Haha!))

Aeron felt his cheeks burn as Kira walk away, and he avoided Karok's gaze. "Oh... If all is well in town, I'll buy the drinks." He said once she was gone, with a small smile.
