post pictures of youre beloved mixed breed gamebirds ,peafowl ,guineas ,chickens ,ducks ,geese ,and turkeys.
just cause their mixed breeds doesnt meen there worthless.

Hi ,Red. I like the mixed breeds as well as the pure. Have you ever seen Farm Raised with P. Allen Smith? ( It's on youtube) I didn't realize it but he appreciates a mixed breed as well. He loves his purebreds but has had a problem with his purebred Dorkings. They aren't laying very well and when they are they are small eggs. So, what he did is cross his dorkings with white leghorns. To help out the Dorkings egg production and size. Anyway ,I thought that was great. He said he would eventually keep breeding back the Dorkings back into his line so that he would be able to preserve the breed . It's nice to know that mixed breeds will help some purebreds survive. I'll send some pictures soon of mine. J.D.

yes i love watching p .allen smith ive even saw that episode that your talking about. i mixed a birchen cochin bantam with some black sex link hens i think thats what kind of hen it was and they were great egg layers some had birchen plumage and one that didnt have birchen plumage went broody and hatched a chick.

These 2 (front) are black wyandotte x red star I just keep these two just because I liked the hen's color. When I bred them together I got a hen that look just like the hen lol.

Hi JD. I was gifted my first chicks on Mother's Day: 2 RIR's, 2 PBR's, 1 white leghorn, 1 gold sexlink. I have since added 3 Ameracauna chicks. Last Monday one of my RIR pullets turned out to be a Roo. So, since I'm going to be blessed with more than just eggs, I want to see what we're gonna make

I love surprises. Don't you Wendy? The baby chicks are a surprise and then you get another one when they are adults, but they are always good surprises.
