The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I follow so many foreign bird pages I can get sick of bird pictures (they're not as beautiful as live birds). The only photos I never skip are those of D&S Poultry Pics. Those are exceptionally good.
You are correct they are not as pretty as in-person birds.

I still like looking tho, especially at the colors we don't have here or are not in our SOP. Even breeds we don't have. So I kinda skip the ones we do have and all ducks but mascovys.

I don't even like ducks but they have some fun duck breeds over there.
The ones I linger on the most are the Thuringians, Braekels, and of course the Belgian and Booted bantams.

There are such things as lavender leghorns????
Just at Moony's house. I used to love lavender but a lot of people didn't because of the shreader gene.
Yeah trying to work it out or work around it wasn't too fun. I still have some lavender patterned birds but I don't know if I have any solid lavenders. Maybe one but yeah still got the genes around so if I decide to go back to them.
I started working with blue which sometimes looks very lavender but are easier to work with so that's what I've been doing lately.

I think this one is my favorite Moony! I love the coloring!
Oh, the ol dreaded Mille Fleur.
I love the pattern and others do too but it seems like many love to hate it.
It's always been my old nemesis. Lots of genes involved in that pattern and uncommon genes for Leghorns to have. That amounts to hatching tons of chicks to maybe get a handful to move forward with. I've hatched a lot of chicks for that pattern project but never had much success with getting enough to keep the project alive.
Maybe I'll go back to it someday I don't know.

Oh yeah the gene that makes them look raggedy right? What kind of patterns are they? I love blue too! I just have only heard of lavender orpington before lol😅
