The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I have house chickens now. lol I keep newborns in the house for a day or two until they get on their feet well enough to go to the bigger brooders in the building. So this time of year we always have house chickens. 😬
I keep my chicks in my bedroom for a week until the next batch hatches.
Love chick cheeps in the mornings.

So I'm looking into buying a used vehicle. Trying to deal with Facebook Marketplace people. I know I know.
Just asked a guy if there was any known mechanical issues or concerns? He replied I really don't know I'm not a mechanic. So I replied but you have driven the damn thing haven't you? Geez us people!

Me too. They are cute little rascals. I hatched a barred sex-linked Naked Necker cockerel chick today and I'm pretty stoked about him. He will look super cool as a yard bird with the layers. Since my Naked Neckers are both Dominant White, but only hetero for it as they have a lot of color leakage, I was hoping to get any color NN chick that wasn't white from him. The NN birds I have are white ear lobed, hetero for dominant white, and yellow legged. I would lay bet they had a White Leghorn parent, since they are both only hetero for the NN gene.

The more I deal with people, the more I hate dealing with people. I could tell you some doozy stories that you just couldn't make up. That is why we don't do much selling of birds, and mainly eat any extra birds we have.

Did someone say NN?

I have had people meet me to get turkey poults on an aforeagreed-upon price, then tell me they once they got there they would only pay $10 each for them because "that is what TSC sells them for." I told them I would eat them before I would sell them for $10 a piece. And we did. Grew them out and butchered the whole lot of them. Turkey and dumplings are delicious! And you can't put a price on the satisfaction it gave me to tell them "have a safe trip to TSC to get your poults." Mind you, TSC sells broad breasted white meat turkeys, not the Heritage varieties that live longer and can actually naturally reproduce. I'm sorry but the two are just not the same. I'm a very kind and generous person, I give away more birds than I sell ten fold (or more) but I don't take kindly to being low-balled and my time wasted.
