The Moonshiner's Leghorns

My husband has threatened to make pepperoni out of mine. She didn’t mean any harm to the chickens. She is just a pest that likes chicken feed. The turkeys in there may all end up in the freezer for their wicked ways. They are just mixed varieties, nothing important.
I hated our sheep because they'd always get in the coop to eat the chicken feed.

Oh I have threatened to drop mums goats too.... they havent killed any birds but they have destroyed coops buy getting on the roofs 🤬
My first chicken pens were 4 pens side by side in the barn. All chicken wire.
When I had the kune kune one bigger piglet escaped and got into the barn. He hadn't done much to anything but when I tried to run him out about time he was almost to the door for no reason he took a hard right and ran straight through all 4 pens until he hit the metal siding at the end. Damn little pig will go through some chicken wire like it's butter.

So sorry to hear about the losses. 😭

Also had to pull an old tarp out, fold it in half and put it over the chicks end of the pen because rain. Did this in the rain. La sigh.😒

Brother is also running a friend to the emergency room for goodness knows what.
😒

Wow that is a strong piglet! Did it live? I would have been throwing that little bacon seed on the grill. lol

Thank you, such is life when you raise chickens. It's even harder when you realize one careless oversight, one pen you forget to latch, causes that much devastation. It's even harder knowing the fault is solely mine. So I am feeling pretty depressed today.
Chickening is hard. And certainly not for the weak, that's for sure.

It seems like with any new venture I take on, I am met in the beginning with devastation or a medley of difficult obstacles. It's like life is testing me to see how important the venture is, will I keep going, or will I fold? Well, I am going to keep going. Hopefully, this Leghorn endeavor doesn't kill me first.

I hope your brother's friend is okay. Le sigh. I feel that. 😮‍💨😩

I'd cap the goat but that's probably just me. I had goats long enough to learn to despise them.
She's so sweet though, albeit annoying. I can't rehome her because I am the only person she trusts. But I can't blame her for my mistake. Sure, she probably opened the door, but had I latched the door, she wouldn't have gotten it open. The mistake was mine. I am more angry that the turkeys are killing everything that gets in there, including a free-range turkey hen's newborn poults that wandered into the goat lot.
