The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I never thought a tetanus shot hurt at all. But I always get painful muscle soreness and stiffness afterward for days afterward, that's why my doctor said I can't have them any more. I'd accidentally jabbed myself in the hand while administering a tetanus shot to a horse and I went in to see if I needed a shot and when I told the dr I react to the shots that way he said Nope.
I just had to have a Tdap booster for school recently and I had a little muscle soreness for a day or so but no worse than any other shot.

THe pain of a tetanus shot lasts longer than the burn from Iodine
Have you ever seen the severe muscle spasms, lockjaw, and muscle contractions people get with tetanus? It is very painful, and seeing pictures of the tetanus posturing in medical textbooks is frightening. Yeah the shots are much better than that. 😬

So sorry for taking the thread way off topic. 😩

Have you seen a difference in egg laying between any of the different varieties?
There's some difference but there's differences with individual birds too. I don't have whites and I'll figured good production whites couldn't be beat.
When I had Hatchery whites and Hatchery Browns they layed about the same. My Silvers lay as well as any. Lavender silver DW a little less but they lay large eggs. Blacks lay well but not as big. Buffs and exchequer probably lay a few less and not the biggest.
So ya there's a difference but....

Iodine wouldn’t be effective for a deeper puncture wound though. Unless you irrigated the wound well, but you could still potentially not be able to reach it all.
I went home and put a piece of aloe vera on my hand where I had jabbed myself with that tetanus needle. Kept replacing it as it shrank down for three days. It felt better very quickly and healed up nicely. It drew the toxins out and I was fine. Obviously, as this was over 40 years ago.

Do you keep records or just trust your memory?

I have a spreadshee..... :lau I almost got that out with a straight face.
Just my memory from the repetitious egg collecting during hatch season. Most all of my chickening stuff is just in my head. 🤔 I'm not sure that sounded right.
