It is 59°F here right now (9:15 a.m.) and should be over or around 70. We hit 79 yesterday, I heard! The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Lol

Merry Christmas

So, how did everyone's Christmas go? Did you get everything that you wanted or needed?

I help get everything ready for my mom and then I always leave for the holidays. We had her candy and cakes made and lasagna in the fridge ready to bake. I leave my gifts there and normally go somewhere warm for a week. This year I only had to go 45 miles to the lake and felt like I was in paradise. I work a lot all year and never use vacation so I’m not using my only free time to listen about politics and coffee shops lol. I love my family but in about 30 minute doses. I see my mother almost daily so it’s not like I’m skipping out on her and missing time with her.

So, how did everyone's Christmas go? Did you get everything that you wanted or needed?

Got too much. We are making a donation to the local Mission. There are only so many throws, socks, soaps, etc a person can use. I know there are so many people in need that can use them.

Christmas was okay. I didn’t feel well and had a migraine by the time we got home. My son is tickled with his metal detector though! He and his dad have found some old cans and an old shotgun shell cap. The metal detector is basically paying for itself.

I am so glad I’m not the only one who can only stand their family in small doses. Hence my Christmas migraine. I want to go somewhere warm for Christmas and skip the usual Christmas junk. I thought I was a Scrooge!

How did your Christmas go?

We did our Christmas gift exchange with local friends the day before Christmas, and received a few gift cards, a box of chocolates, and a tray of cookies. Good thing that I'm not too worried about my weight. We ate out at Rustlers Roost for Christmas dinner. It's on a hill and overlooks the city and you can see the planes coming and going at the airport. The place has a good Christmas dinner, and we have gone there for maybe 4 years now. They also have a band.

I brought home some of my leftover prime rib for our dog Serene to have Christmas dinner too.
