Side note: how long is this hatching process supposed to take? I can’t even remember to my last successful broody hen but I think 24 hours sounds reasonable? Is that right?

All my chicks hatched within 24 hrs of the 1st one.I gave the rest of the eggs 24 hrs before quitting since none of them pipped.I ended up with 4 roosters out of 9

I put cut-up potatoes and carrots in the Instant Pot with 1½ c water and processed them for about 8 minutes. That was dinner. Delicious with salt and butter. Hey, I cooked!

Side note: how long is this hatching process supposed to take? I can’t even remember to my last successful broody hen but I think 24 hours sounds reasonable? Is that right?

I think 24 hours is the go to answer but I've had 48 hours regularly. Sure I've had some later then that but those usually don't make it, too weak.
