I just saw this. This is the wing patch issue we're talking about.
See the white in the wing bow area? That area never wants to feather in. That is lack of mature feathers. They stay pin feathers.

Lavender is a dilute gene. Unlike blue it dilutes gold tones too.
This is an example of above bird if it didn't have lavender.
You can see the dark red area. That's the area it effects in that way. It's caused by the same thing that makes tails shedded in solid lavender birds.

I'm so glad you guys aren't charging for this information. So if its like that and recessive. No two birds that show it can be bred and eliminate it? Or no bird that shows it can be bred to produce splits that could then produce birds without it?
So true it reminds me of Junior College where my teacher said to me because I was banging my head against the wall trying to prove something with my data and he said to me," kid stop searching for support for your hypothesis to backup your data",your data is the road to your hypothesis.Wherever it takes you"I have been there done that. The issue is caused by a gene. Understand the gene and understand how it breeds and its no different then dealing with any other gene.
We've disagreed over this gene several times. It is what it is. Just different opinions.
I understand you have mentors and highly thought of ones in their circles. Ive also been there done that. I don't take anyone's word as gold at this point in my life and would expect no one to take mine that way either.
They're just ideas and opinions. One needs to seek information as they see fit and learn. Use gained knowledge to think for themselves. To try to understand the "why" and experiment or bred to further their understanding for themselves.
Having serious phone issues today so was only able to take two pics and one didn't turn out well at all. Anyways here's a blue cockerel.
I'll take some better pics of him and grab a pullet pic or two in the next few days
