The Moonshiner's Leghorns

This is blue mish mash. It's not his fault, but I think he's ugly. On the next process day his head will . . . .

Moony, which is easier (I feel like I know, but we both know I've been wrong before):

Creating a Mille fleur coloring in a breed (provided you have the colors you need, which are...?)
Or
Bringing the coloring in from a breed with almost the opposite body type (in which case you would breed it to what color?)

Well yeah but still shocked

I started a chocolate leghorn project when I started the blues. When my barn roof exploded I lost every one I had. Would love to start over but I'd need a chocolate bird.
I can send you some eggums in the spring if you want? Body type isn't going to be any help to you. Would a Wyandotte be easier to keep the legs yellow?
Few years ago I had a micro bust blow half the roof in the air then it came down on a lot of pens
What is a micro bust? Sounds like something the president of the itty bitty titty committee would be interested in and that most straight males would not.

Ok I know, they didn’t “bring it in.” She was a fellow originator.
She's a cutie. Get's a pass. But I'll say that's the only color I prefer in d'Uccles to d'Anvers. I hate those stupid feathered feet, but they look good in that one variety.

Oh, he's too pretty to eat. Find him a nice home in the country. He's very pretty for a barnyard mix.

Tbh I agree. And porcelains, but I think porcelain d’Anvers pull it off pretty well because it’s not so saturated. For some reason mille fluers look simultaneously too busy and too simple on d’Anvers (like it came from the circus or something?) while quail looks elegant and complex.
That said, I do like
But mille fluer is beautiful and appropriately fancy on a d’Uccle.
I have heard that copying your body and facial characteristics in your clothes can be very flattering and maybe that has something to do with it?
Additionally, while many roosters have bold, colorful patterns a lot of hens can have more complex patterns in some of the patterned breeds. I think God gave them the swirly patterns because they could pull it off. Roosters might look goofy, lol.
I guess that’s why breeders made certain colors popular. They looked good.
