The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Breeding chickens?
Jeez since the mid 70s
Back then I was into show breeding so crossing colors/patterns was mostly a big No No. I just breed for type.
I got out of them and back into them here and there over the years when life got involved and raised chickens for different reasons over that time.
There were times I did like others and just mixed everything for fun.
I've been into the color genetics for IDK 12, 13 years and got back into leghorns probably 9 years ago but really started collecting and creating for 6 or 7 but really serious for about the last 5.
Respect

Well summers over and winter is coming soon. Been below freezing overnight a few times already.
Been busy making winter breeding plans. Switching some things up and looking to the future.
Speaking of that I got some new birds to show and they're not even leghorns. Ok so not technically but they do have leghorn blood in them.
Recieved these from a breeder a few days ago. A rooster, a hen, a cockerel and a pullet. They're a project that were.....
Never mind for now....
Less talk, more pics....

Are these what they are now selling as opal legbars?

When will these be for sale?
I think leghorn are my favorite since they are slim and better suited for Texas.
Did you mess with the egg color or are they all laying white eggs?
I don't sell eggs or birds.
Maybe in a year or two that may change but still undecided if I want to go down that road.

Thank you. Thats means a lot in my neck of the woods.

Now you're just showing off. Lol 👍🏻
Lol. Ya that happens from time to time.

Yes and no.
When the breeder that "created" opal legbars was doing so she was not the only one doing it.
Mine came from the other breeder that was also doing the same project.
IMO one breeder took their time, worked with smaller numbers and put her effort into breeding beautiful quality birds.
Let's just say the other breeder had different goals which involved putting many birds on the ground and getting them to a profitable place asap.

As for isabellas, does anyone have a recommendation for a source of fertile eggs? I saw a few with an internet search. I don't show (I probably will get into that one day) but I'd like to find a source that at least breeds toward the SOP.
