Yesterday was hatch day for the batch that was in the incubator that got broke.
Several eggs got broke at the time and others died that day. Several quit developing then, a few started gooing and two explodad.
Anyways I did end up with 9 hatching. 2 I had to assist.
Still trying to deal with waterer system. Gonna discontinue the cups. They look cool and a cool idea but not very functional. It's been days now and the birds will drink the water from the cup but none have yet figured out the lever to refill it. It sets real low in the cup and seems it works best if lifted which would be hard to do for a chicken. Hitting it to either side works but is a bit slower and takes more pressure. Pushing down does next to nothing.
Besides that yes they leak and yes they get stuck on if something gets in the cup and under the lever.
The last two days I've had two get stuck and drain 30 gallons or so of water.
Ordered more horizontal nipples and will continue to try to work the bugs out.
I think overall they would be great if someone had a small flock and just used a bucket or very small pvc setup.
Not all are pictured but hatched black tailed reds, buffs, buff split mottled, black, cuckoo, blue cuckoo, Isabella, silver crele, and a few that I'm not certain about. Been hatching some odd balls from one pair that are showing DB. (Partridge)
