Mm... I think that we're doing pretty good. Two 50-lb bags from TSC is only about $30 or $40 per month, I think.
And then there are the occasional treats... shhhh, don't tell the Keekster.

One floof!? Oh, horror of horrors! Will you be getting any more?
If I knew where you lived (and was allowed to and didn't have college coming up like a sneaking Kahlua), I'd hatch some fluffy-footed boof-bedecked fuzzles in the spring and ship them off to you... with permission, of course. Not spherical Cochins, but at least it's something... right?
