The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Eat her asap.
Then get some real birds.

All feathers on that frame -- wouldn't be worth the effort to butcher!

It’s a possibility, though, right? Or am I completely off?
See, IDK...
I have read that Dutch Browns were used by some breeders overseas.
@The Moonshiner can shed light on this-his theory-But it's been covered before. But not enough either.

But Cochins are real birds. As well as your Leghorns.

(I don't have either breed...)
Don't worry, @OneHappyRooster , Orps are real birds too. I've actually had/have Buff Orpingtons. Out of my two favorite birds I've had/have was a Buff Orpington named Snickers.. Unfortunately she has passed, but I still have another who is great.

Ancona go broody? I didn't know that.
I didn’t either. But they do quite often. They’re very self sufficient. Do your Leghorns often go broody?
Silver and what else do you think?
I think gold. Only because a bird homozygous for silver can never have phaeomelanin unless it has autosomal red? or Mh.

I’d agree. Cochins are birds of deception. Silkies are tasty tho.

Lol. IDK what that bird is or what genes it has.
I looked into them years ago because of that pic.
I had several people telling me all different things. It was being called a golden and when I look into that I found there were different patterns being labeled as golden.
I also found that pic being from overseas. I also reached out to a few over there. I got a couple replies that seemed adamant about what they were.
Both said silver duckwing were used. I tried to find the emails I had received but they seem to have been lost. I never got a real answer to what other genes were involved.
At a later time I was told it was silver duckwing with like mahogany.
It seems clear to me now that different people have different ideas about whats involved and even what they look like.
I'm gonna scrap everything ive been told and in the future just go by what I know and go from there.
I as of today believe a silver duckwing with mahogany is not the answer. I have a cockerel somewhere that I believe is that pattern and it reminds me of a male salmon faverolle. Not enough color for what I see in that bird.
I also thought about the mentioned Dutch. Isn't a cream gold duckwing what a CCL is if you took away the barring? That doesn't seem correct either.
I still think id personally go with a partridge over a duckwing just to try to make something similar.
Anyone know of a partridge or gold duckwing with both mahogany and cream? Or with mahogany and the dilute gene like buffs have?
That's what route I'm thinking.
